Global Citizenship - St Attractas NS

Global Citizenship

The theme we are currently working on is Global Citizenship and Litter and Waste.

We are trying hard to improve on our litter and waste management within the school by continuing to reduce, reuse and recycle. We are learning lots about recycling in our classes too and the importance of not sending everything to landfill.

Also for this renewal we are looking at Global Citizenship. Global citizenship is the rights, responsibilities and duties that come with being a member of the global community ie. the world. We want our pupils to be aware that our actions and choices may impact others locally, nationally and internationally.

Our classes are working very hard on this theme. We are checking bins, doing spot checks and surveys. We are also completing projects on world countries as well as exploring the concept of Fair Trade.

We have a long history with Green Schools in our school and we hope to continue our journey with Green Schools as we apply shortly for our sixth green flag !!
